Hello,
I use TeamViewer to help my elderly parents on their phone and PC for computer troubleshooting and I can no longer maintain the connection because my TeamViewer program declares that I am doing commercial use.This is very annoying and false.
How can I return to private use as it is in reality?

I dont know if TeamViewer is the partner or the person I am trying to connect to
Its a new year and I had to log back in and think there was an upgrade. Maybe my partner on the other end needs to check for updates ?
Using free version as conservator for a legally incapacatitated individual whose computer skills require constant help. I believe on 1/5/25 I sent in a new request to allow free non commercial user.

Hello,
I use Teamviewer 15.60.3 on PC in Free version.
During the last few weeks, I see popup windows saying that he has detected a commercial use of Teamviewer, and that the session will be interpted after 5 minutes.
I am disapointed,because I don't use Teamviewer for any commercial use, so I am looking forward to contact the good interlocutor able to solve this situation.

Good Morning! I am 69, my mom is 92. She gets confused with her laptop computer, so a nephew has set up a TeamViewer account (non-commercial) to help her. I attempted to access her laptop, using my TeamViewer account, but the message on the screen tells me I'm attempting a commercial transaction. I am able to log into her laptop, but in a few seconds, TeamViewer logs me out. There is no commercial activity taking place - could you help to sort this out? Thanks, Allan

For years I have been using the free version regularly to remotely connect to my PC.
Since today, the connection times out every time after five minutes.
Did anything change to the free plan?

Hello,
I use Team Viewer to monitor my mother with Alzheimers while I am at work. I only connect to a single IP address and only use it to monitor the cameras. I have been told this is an acceptable use but my account continues to be limited every few weeks. Why does this keep happening?

I'm using the free version because I am most heartily NOT using it for business, only personal reasons.
How do I get them to stop timing me out?

My brother is 82, handicapped and extremely poor vision. I've used TeamViewer for years to help him maneuver around the internet averaging about 1-2 per month.
Lately, I cannot help him because I keep getting logged out. Is there a solution to fix this?

I have been using the free for personal use version for some years now. I help my mom, mother-in-law and most recently my sister. I have gotten the suspected commercial use notice and went through all that and got my permissions back. It's been working fine. Today it started timing me out but isn't giving me the suspected commercial use notice just the session timed out notice. Have I lost my permissions again or is this something else?

Hi, in my home I'm using my MacMini to connect to my NUC (same home, just to use it headless). I was already tested (and allowed) for free use.
I usually remotely control my NUC once in a while… starting from today, the connection expires in 4/5 minutes. Why this?

I use teamviewer to help my nephew and some other people with their computer (mostly iMac's . I'm a retired civil engineer and the people I help are all retired persons without any profession. It is annoying that I constantly to login each time after disconnection. How can I or you stop this.

I was allowed to use a commercial version of TeamViewer for free during the COVID pandemic since I work for a nonprofit organization. I still work for the same organization and still need to have access from home on occasion. Who can I speak to for commercial access? Thanks.

I use teamviewer with a free licence for a while. I never connected to other devices than my own ones (2 desktops, 1 laptop, 1 smartphone)
In beginning I had the "commercial use detected" issue as I had problems to split connection (local / VPN), so I just went over network instead using local IP addresses when at home.This case has been resolved luckily, but I got the issue with commercial use again when connecting with smartphone. It says "If you use TeamViewer in a commercial setting, you need a commercial licence" with given the options to "Maybe later" or "update now".
I can chose "Maybe later" and still connect, but get forced DC in a few minutes.I can't do anything about it as I am unable to login to the website, after I cleared my cookies since while, I need to add the browser to the "trusted devices" again.
Though, emails never appear. I had to create a new account in order to post here.In other words this means, I can't do anything now. This is absurd joke, what can users do in such a case, if teamviewer refuses support for free licences.

lol, thanks for the warning and mentioning for how to request "commercial detection issue" removal.
When I can't login to the website due to not recieving a the confirmation emails to add my browser "as trusted device",
I can't do anything.
No chat, no hotline and no email support for free licence. I even tried to create a new account, for posting here, but also for testing another email provider…. same issue, emails from teamviewer just don't get through.
But don't bother, teamviewer already deinstalled. There are other options.0 -
