Getting the bellow "Connection blocked after timeout" error immediately on connection. Both endpoints are Free license.
Hi @RKDTOO , Welcome, and thanks for your first post!
Please make sure both devices (local and remote side) are using the newest version of TeamViewer with the newest UI. For more details please check our announcement: New updates regarding the free usage of TeamViewer 15
Let us know how it goes. Best, Carol
Uh-huh, and how am I supposed to upgrade the client on a remote device if you are kicking me off after a few seconds? Unreasonable. The primary nature of a remote device is that it is remote.
P.S. Thanks for deleting the empty accidental comment, I couldn't find an option to delete it.
Hi @RKDTOO , Thanks for your honest feedback. We understand your frustration, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
The remote update is possible, but if TeamViewer is already timing out in a few seconds, you may need to contact someone on the remote side to assist with the update manually.
Another relevant point to mention is the compatibility with the device OS. If your device has an older OS, it may not support the newest version of TeamViewer for the update.
I hope this info can help you in some way. 🍀 Please don't hesitate to post if you have further questions. Best, Carol
Hi again. Both the remote device and the source device are Windows 11 23H2 and as it tuns out the TeamViewer software on the remote computer is also up to date. Still my session gets timed out almost immediately. Moreover I am able to connect to this remote computer and sustain a session from my mobile phone. Perhaps this is relevant: in the past, on the source computer, I used to use TeamViewer with my employer's enterprise license. This employer no longer has a contract with TeamViewer. I login to TeamViewer on both end-points with my personal account. It looks like you are blocking this computer as an enterprise device based on my IP or MAC address or some other identifiable information. Please advise how to resolve this.
Hello?
Hi @RKDTOO , Thanks for the information provided!
Your assumption is correct; TeamViewer does not support personal use and commercial use on the same device. Once a license is used in a device, that ID is flagged as commercial.
Please try to submit the reset form: Thank you for playing fair The form may take a few business days to be processed, but let us know how it goes.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Best, Carol
Does TeamViewer consider you in need of a paid license if you try to connect to your remote pc after activating 2 factor authentication?
Harvey Johnson
Hi @19harvey59, Thanks for your question!
The 2-factor authentication security feature doesn't have an impact on the use case of TeamViewer. For more details on what is commercial use and what is private use please consider checking What is considered commercial?
I hope it helps! 🍀 Best, Carol
