Dear TeamViewer users,

We want to touch base with some important updates regarding TeamViewer.

First and foremost, our commitment to providing top-notch security remains unwavering. In line with this commitment, we continuously release updates to enhance security measures and introduce new features. As part of this ongoing effort, we're implementing changes to ensure that all our users are using the latest versions of TeamViewer.

For our free users accessing older TeamViewer versions (specifically versions 15.00 to 15.36), we're launching a program to keep you up-to-date. Starting mid-April, users on these older versions will receive warnings prompting them to ensure both sides of their connections are running the latest release. In June, connections for users on these older versions will be blocked. To maintain your free usage, users must update to the latest free version of TeamViewer or use the web app available at https://web.teamviewer.com/.

Please note that this program only applies to our free users; licensed users will not be impacted.

Additionally, we want to inform our macOS users that connections through macOS 10.11-10.13 will no longer be possible for free users. Unfortunately, affected users won't be able to update their TeamViewer versions as these macOS versions are no longer supported. However, connections will be possible with a commercial license.

Looking ahead, we plan to continue our phase-out process for free users later this year. Our goal is to only allow the last three minor versions, ensuring that all users are consistently using the latest TeamViewer version.

To learn how to update TeamViewer to the latest version, please read these articles, depending on which TeamViewer interface you are using:

We understand that these changes may require adjustments, but we believe they are crucial to maintaining the security and functionality of TeamViewer. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out in the thread below.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

All the best,

/JeanK
