My free 'private use' version used to display the identity of the remote devices I connect to. Having had to install Team Viewer on a replacement laptop, I have to enter the device ID manually every time I connect. Why?

On your TeamViewer account, you should see a list of previously connected devices—including the device name, TeamViewer ID, and last connection date—under the Devices tab. Do you see this list appears?
If so, please double-check that you're signed in with the same TeamViewer account you used on your previous PC. You can click the profile icon and go to Edit profile to check your account email.
