I have had the same partner ID on my Windows desktop computer for at least 3 years. I discovered today that the ID has changed. I didn't ask for that. I have not reinstalled TeamViewer. I got no notice that this had happened. Unfortunately, the change prevented me from using TeamViewer today the way I wanted while I was not home. Once I got home, I discovered the new ID & I tested that it does work. Has anybody else encountered anything like this? I would expect that a change like that would generate a notification so I could know to change my connection process. This is highly annoying.
Separately, I have had it happen a couple of times that I have been required to register my partner IDs with TeamViewer in order to prove that I am not using TeamViewer for commercial purposes. Do I need to register this new ID? Seems to me there's no way to do the registration until TeamViewer flags me for unauthorized use. I'd rather head that annoyance off before it happens.
