Hi everyone,

We just set up TeamViewer Classic on a client’s Ubuntu machine. We’ve got a TeamViewer Premium license at our company, and we enabled the “Manage this device” feature right after installing it. Connections are working smoothly.

But when you launch TeamViewer on that PC, it says “Free license.” The only time we ever signed into an account there was during the “Manage this device” setup.

Are we supposed to sign in with a licensed account on the client PC to stay compliant? Or we just leave it as is since we only want in-going connections to the Ubuntu machine?

Thank you for reaching out with your question about the license setup.

From what you’ve described, your current setup sounds good. Since your client’s Ubuntu device only receives incoming connections, it doesn’t need to have a TeamViewer license applied on that side. Leaving it as it is should work just fine.
