Title: Free account in mainland China cannot pass SMS verification with a valid China Unicom number
Hello TeamViewer Support,
I am using a free TeamViewer account and I am currently in mainland China.
When I try to start an outgoing connection, TeamViewer forces me to complete SMS verification with a mainland China mobile number. However, the verification does not work.
My phone number is a valid physical China Unicom mobile number that I have used for about 20 years. It has never been linked to any TeamViewer account before.
This is also not a new device. I already used the same device and the same TeamViewer account successfully in Japan before. The problem only started after I returned to China.
I have already tried the following:
- using the correct mainland China mobile number
- confirming that it is not a virtual number
- trying again with and without VPN
The system still fails when I enter the number.
Could you please check:
- whether my account is stuck in the mainland China SMS verification flow
- whether there is a backend issue with phone number validation
- whether there is any way to manually verify or reset this requirement
