I was able to connect this morning to a remote session and I have been disconnected. I am using my laptop and not my desktop as I am in another state visiting friends.
Hi @Steve Wedd, Thanks a lot for the detailed information, and for the kind words about TeamViewer. 😊 From your description, it actually sounds like you might be experiencing a different issue than the one originally reported in this thread. To keep things clear and make sure we can properly investigate your case, could you please follow the discussion in this thread:
That way, we can focus on the specific topics of each thread and provide you with more targeted help. Looking forward to continuing there! Best, Nadin
Forgot to write - the target home Mac shows (before I click connect) as online = so its clearly there waiting for me.
Is there a record-sequence option here?
Thank you.
The service has been excellent for decades. I love it.
I run Macs on the road and at home but I have three legacy programmes that only work on my home PC, so I use Parallels virtual and it runs inside my home Mac. (Every five years you message me and ask me if I'm using it for profit and every five years I report MS Access for my file numbering, and (get this) MS Money 2002! It's still working and I use it all day every day and it's fifteen years out of support and it still works for my personal finances)).
Just lately though, TeamViewer has stopped opening at the far end and all I get all the time now is this same message - see below.
I have tried offing it and reinstalling both at base and on the travelling Mac. I have tried TeamViewer host - loaded and offloaded. I am back to the original, long-working same old same old. It looks exactly the same as before but just won't open up.
The only way I can get it to work is by me being at home on the desktop version, opening the system on it, getting the normal desktop, and then clicking on the remote unit (which is by then sitting next to the desktop Mac). THEN it works as normal. As soon as I lock screen on the base Mac, nothing. Connects but meaningless.
Side by side in the same room, Home Screen unlocked, perfect.
Same side by side set up, with the desktop Mac display locked, no connection.
Something about the desktop going to locked is blocking it.
Hello @Steve Wedd,
Happy to have you back in our Community.
Could you please provide a bit more detail about the issue so we can better understand what’s happening? For example, when exactly did the disconnection occur, did you receive any error messages, and are you able to reconnect now?
We're looking forward to your reply.
Best,
Valeria

Hi @Jill Zuidema, Thanks for your first post in our Community!
Are you still experiencing this connection issue, or was it a one-time incident?
Connection issues can be caused by different reasons. Do you receive any specific error message? If yes, share it with us.
We're looking forward to your reply. Best, Carol
