gui.log just says:
Unrecognized OpenGL version
How can I check the opengl version?
I tried purge and reinstall but did not help

It turned out that CUDA 9.1 installed an OpenGL version not compatible with teamviewer. Upgrading to CUDA 10 fixed the issue.
