My Desktop Was Downloaded To Another Computer-Please Help!

Please help-any advice is appreciated!

Earlier today, I upgraded to the newest free version of team viewer (verson 14.3.4730) I connected to another computer via "remote control" and NOT via "Meeting". All the files on my desktop were transferred to the computer I connected to immediately! If I attempted to trash these files on the other computer I was viewing, it trashed the files on my own desktop of my connecting computer!!!

I've used TeamViewer many times before and nothing like this has ever happened before.

Why is this happening? How do I take care of it? How do I prevent this from happening again?

Please advise!
