I have been using TV for years to help friends and family. I am now no longer able to do so because sessions are terminated after a minute or 2 with a message about commercial use and pointing me to buy a license. If I try to reconnect, it then says I can't have another session and have to wait (which does no good). Is TV no longer usable as a free screensharing program? [removed per Community Guidelines]

I've been using a 'free' Teamviewer account for years to get access to my family's computers and have been very happy. I recently got the notice of 'commercial use suspected' and it directed me to the 'reset management page' (https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/reset-management/) I've filled out all the information and a detailed explanation of my usage (I'm retired - no revenue from computer related tasks!) but the button at the the bottom of the form that says 'generate and upload PDF' does nothing. Is the link broken? There seems no way for us 'free' users to contact support - and I keep getting redirected to the 'reset-management' page which I fill out again. I feel like a hamster on a running wheel! Is there any hope or do I need to sign up for another account and set up all my computers again? Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • Teamviewer desktop suddenly thinks that I'm using it for commercial purposes. I AM NOT. I never have been nor am I now doing that. I only use it to help friends remotely. I've been helping friends for a long time with Teamviewer so why all of a sudden does it think otherwise and will not let me connect to anyone? How do we fix this?? Many thanks!

Hello, I was using Teamviewer to connect to a business that was paying me for my services so I paid for the commercial license. The company is closing down and I am no longer "working for them". I no longer get paid, but they do still need assistance from time to time and since I consider them friends I am doing it for free. However, since it used to be on the commercial license I keep getting kicked of with it saying "commercial use detected". I would like to find a way to be able to help these people without being penalized for previously having a license. Can someone point me in the right direction to get this resolved?

I've come here because of the same reason. Sessions used to last 30 minutes or more which can be needed when supporting my mother with a password reset or other issues.

I fully appreicate that TeamViewer is FREE for personal use but i want to make sure that something isn't wrong.

This evening i have had several dropped connections within one hour - which actually makes the amount of time using TeamViewer for Free longer than it would have been if it had not dropped.

As you can see both messages seem to imply some sort of commercial useage. I am on my home pc and my (retired) mother was on her laptop. All my paid-work is done on a seperate laptop here and i don't use TeamViewer on that.

I'll try the link above to see if that helps.

Also can confirm the 'generate and upload PDF' button appears to do nothing.

I am having the same problem. I support my disabled sister remotely and am getting disconnected in under 2 minutes and am then locked out. My licence shows as "free" and activated. I have tried the ID reset procedure but this does not work. The procedure then invites you to complete a form and then create a pdf and upload it but this doesn't seem to activate so I don't know if the process has finished. It shows "suspected commercial use" which it most certainly is not. I am over 80 years old and have no intentions of making any commercial use of the product but do need remote access. How on earth does Teamviewer recognise commercial use? Clearly it finds false positives.

In the past month, I have been knocked off my connection after 5 minutes. I use teamviewer to connect to old desktop that I have setup in closet. What do I need to do to get this to work longer without purchasing a licensee.

Hi, I would like to inquire about the free TeamViewer license. Until now, I've been able to assist my family without any issues using the free license. I sporadically connect to computers to help out. However, today I noticed that the remote session time has significantly shortened. I can't even input the password before the session is abruptly ended, and I'm asked to reconnect in a minute. But when that minute passes, it prompts me to reconnect again for another minute. Is this some sort of error or a definitive end to the free TeamViewer support?

OK, I think I have figured out what's happening. On the 'reset management' page it asks for the TeamViewer Id (or Id's). I put in my Id, and then continued down the page with the rest of the information requested. No joy, nothing happened when I clicked the 'generate PDF and submit' button. SOLUTION: just below the field where it asks for the Id, it says "click here to add Id". I assumed that this meant additional Id's. BUT, if you click here, you'll see your Id gets populated in a field just below. You can then go up and add additional Id's (in my case, several computer Id's on my home network), and after each one, clicking on "click here to Add..." adds these to the list. Once this was done and the rest of form filled out, I clicked on the 'generate PDF and submit' button, AND IT ACCEPTED IT! (and I got a notification that my request would be reviewed. So, be sure to click on the blue field just below TeamViewer Id, and it will probably work for you too! (no more hamster on the wheel stuff!!)

Hi there, I use teamviewer to access a few home computers, but nothing that I need to upgrade to a licensed version. I keep getting plagued with the pop ups that commercial use is suspected when it's not, it seems they're just trying to get me to buy a license, Which makes no sense in my situation and is insanely overpriced for what I need. I am not receiving any compensation from my home use. I don't even have the option to submit a ticket that I'm not using team viewer for commercial use anymore. If teamviewer sees this please fix this, so annoying.

Ry1 --> simply go to the www dot teamview dot com slash en slash reset-management (they won't let me post a link since I'm a newbie) and fill out the form as mentioned in my previous post. Good luck!

On https://www.teamviewer.com/en/reset-management/ page I don't see reset form, but the download button. If I click on the button, the PDF from previous filling starts download.

I tried 5 browsers, you have to login, so after that the problem is linked to my account and door is closed for me.

I am not able to fill the non existing form, so I am not able to reset my non-commercial license.

    Can anybody help me, please?

HI there, I'm stuck in the same situation for few days now. Mistakenly enough I did not list the local ID because I thought it was an issue only with the remote pc home.

    Cheers

  • Almost identical to what I'm going through. I have a PC downstairs but that's the only difference.

And yet, TV kicks me in seconds.

Also trying to help my mom who is learning the Adobe Suite, but needs assistance the professors sometimes don't give.

But wait! Apparently assisting my mom is commercial-use.

So home-inside-home is commercial use, home-to-parents-home is commercial use

At this point, WHAT THE HECK IS ACTUALLY ALLOWED?!?!?!?!?!

Suddenly today, 2 PC running Teamview Free tells me "You are using TeamViewer in a commercial setting" when I'm not. I only cnnect to maybe 6 -10 family PCs. How do I fix this? If I use the web interface instead of the application, it works fine. Just the app seems broken.

    How do I fix this?

Many thinks in advance for your help.

My account was (for the 2nd time) tagged as possibly a commercial account. I ONLY provide support for my daughter, parents & sister. I submitted the reset form for my ID, which was approved. However, when I connect, I STILL get kicked off after 5 minutes and have to wait up to 5 minutes before connecting again for another 5 minutes. When I submitted my form, I only included my ID. Should I have included all ID's? If so, how can I submit them. When I try to submit a new form, it only gives me a .pdf of the original form submitted.

This is getting really frustrating. Teamviewer used to be a great solution, but now it seems to be getting much more non-user centric unless you pay for a commercial license.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you .Carol.fg. for responding. My e-mail address is [removed per Community Guidelines]. Would you also need the ID's of others that I support (family members ONLY).

    Thank you.

  • I use the free teamviewer for personal use. It keeps timing out every 5 min. How do I stop this from happening?

I have a free account but when i access the remote computer, it's only letting me on for less than 1 min. I'm trying to help my dad on his computer. This is the only thing teamviewer is used for. It's not worth me spending $50 a month to do this. how can i resolve the issue?
