  • How do I get the free home user license? MY Plex server and an Ubuntu computer working as an NAS are in my basement, but my personal PC is on an upper floor.

    I am using TeamViewer to access my home PC throughout the day to play some games , browse the web and such . I recently started getting a warning message that the system detected me using it for commercial use - which is not the case.

    May someone assist me with this? I have no idea what to do .

    Hi,

    I use Teamviewer only for personal use (mainly to help administer my 91 year old mother's PC). I never use it for commercial/business purposes. However, my Teamviewer interface yesterday kept saying I had to upgrade due to commercial use and kept kicking me off my mother's PC after about 2-3 minutes w/ each connection. How do I fix this?

  • They don't care. Been trying to convince them for months and they don't even look at https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/special/reset-management/ submissions. They never contact me after 72 hours. Hope you can do whatever you need in 5 minutes.

    How do you connect when you are on a cruise and the free viewer keeps disconnecting saying you are on a Comercial connection using my mobile phone

  • I think they've got it set up to do this to force you to pay for a subscription. I'm planning on dropping their app just as soon as I can find an alternative.

  • I have the same problem and it is ridiculous. I know it is because I logged into Teams using a work account for continue communications whilst myself and my team received our new devices. But that is a personal thing and not something for this business to consider. It's impossible to use Teamviewer within the business but suspect Teamviewer thinks its a and immediately comes up with the "Commercial" prompt and prevents any use. I call it paranoid but also appreciate the possible reasoning, but there should be a better mechanism than blocking use instantly, prompting to upgrade before even establishing or giving the option to plead your case and identify what is going on! I'm still struggling to find out how to submit a ticket and that should be in the forefront in my opinion. How they identify this and if it is due to Teams feels very big brother'ish which also has red flags for me, though I suspect I will be told it is deep somewhere in the T&C's

  • I initially did a search in the community as I was directed here after providing feedback. This was fourth in the list so not the top one which would have prevented me from posting rather than finding you reset link. If the aim was to consolidate to prevent this it would appear it has not been actioned yet.

  • As of today, I am dstating -information that I am using teamViewer commercially.
    And in order to continue using it I have to purchase a licence.
    But I do not use and have never used it commercially.
    Only a few times a year, to connect to my or my family's computers at home.
    How do I report this so that someone can tell me that I am not using it commercially?

  • Keep I'm getting error message saying I'm using commercial use this happened before about 3 years ago but I'm using free version I just upgraded it maybe two three months ago was working fine but yesterday I go to use it and it said timed out you're using commercial use but yet I'm not again this happened I don't know how but they did and I can't remember if they once they fix it do they get a hold of you via email or number or something can someone help me with this

  • I do not know why my free team viewer account is commercial usage if only I have 3 personal computers in my account. Team viewer only give me 5 minutes in session… :(

    My TeamViewer has suddenly started giving me this message when attempting to connect to one or more of my machines. How do I fix this?

    Team Viewer considers I'm using it in a commercial setting, while I only use the free version only from time to time and only to help my uncle, nothing else, no one else.

    I already had this error a few months ago, you fixed it and it's back :(

    Is it forbidden to help my uncle with the free version now ?

    What is "commercial setting"?

  • I've been using TeamViewer for a long time. I am a free user. I have been incorrectly flagged as using the product in a commercial environment in the past, several times. Not sure if this new issue is related to that or not. I am just a home user. I am getting the attached error after 1 minute and cannot reconnect for about 24 hours.

    I have 11 PC's so I assume that's why I keep getting flagged. Previously I submitted a ticket and my issue was resolved. Though now, free users can't submit tickets. What do I do?

  • I should correct 1 thing. I can connect more then once every 24 hours. Seems like it's once ever 30-60 minutes. Still, it's only for 1 minute.

  • I am using your free version but it seems that the system is reading it as being used as a commercial account. I only use TeamViewer for connecting to my personal computer at home when traveling. How do I fix this.

    I'm using TeamViewer on my phone to control my daughter's phone. There is teamviewer host on daughter's phone and it's in my connected device so I can enter it anytime (Nedd to control insulin pump as she is diabetic). I'm sharing my Teamviewer account to my wife (she has Teamviewer on her phone) so she can control it same time. But it shows to her from time to time that: "Connection is not possible. Connection is blocked. You have reached maximum time of connection for this TeamViewer ID. Try it later".

    Do I need paid account to use it this way or how to connect differently to be able to connect to same phone from 2 different phones. not same time of course.

    May 29, 2021, Teamviewer email me the following: 'We are happy to inform you that your TeamViewer ID has been reset to “free”. After reviewing your request, we decided that your use case can be qualified as “personal”.' This was after they questioned my usage in providing minimal support to 20 seniors in a Church charity organization for the poor. Satisfied with my responses, I've been able to help this charity since Covid days.

    Yesterday, when I attempted to assist one of the seniors in accessing his OneDrive, my session was terminated after several minutes and I was not allowed to re-engage until a specified time.

    I cannot create a support ticket because my license states "free". I replied to the address in the May 29, 2021 email but to no avail. I'm hoping someone in support can reinstate my license such that I can continue to assist this charity.

    I keep getting a prompt that I am using the free version for commercial use and I'm not. I log into the same devices all the time and it isn't commercial and now I can't stay on for more than 5 mins. This has happened before and someone fixed it. How do I get this fixed?

    I get a license issue warning and get kicked out in under a minute on the free edition. I uninstalled and reinstalled on both computers and still having the same issue. Any helpful tips?

    Hello. after a long time of free license use, my sessions started to disconnect after 1 minute.

    as I investigated, it seems that TeamViewer's algorithm has being updated lately and my account was falsely identified as "commercial use". I have placed a request to reclaim my free account. unfortunately, I have received no Email from TeamViewer regarding my request. not even a confirmation Email that my request has been placed successfully. 72 hours have past. and no response from TeamViewer.

    what do you recommend me to do?
