Whitelist invalid email address error

I have set up three members of the family to control a remote computer. Now I can;t add more people- I get an invalid email address error. This happens whether pasting in the email or typing it out ever so carefully. I thought this might be an issue with network traffic, but a day later at a different time I get the same error. Anyone else getting this problem?
