    Hi there,

Firstly, thank you for sharing your feedback and reminding us what is important to you.

Secondly, I am happy to let you know that we will be adding remote control back into meetings for TeamViewer licensed customers with a Business, Premium, Corporate or Tensor plan.

It is planned that this feature will be added back before the end of March this year. As soon as we have a more accurate timeline, we will post an update on this topic thread.

I can already share that only when the remote control functionality is being used will it -as before- use one of the available channels from your TeamViewer license. This is something you will need to keep in mind when planning your channel usage. But to confirm, hosting a meeting without using remote control will not consume a channel.

All our free users are invited to use the remote control functionality within the regular remote control feature of TeamViewer.

Once again thank you for your feedback and support.

    Regards,

    Ryan

  • @RyanVonEss and @Esther, we don't appear to be getting anywhere. What is happening?

I'm also still yet to receive any contact from our account manager.

    Hi Ashley,

Thanks for following up! May I ask you to reach out to the service team directly? We do not have specific account managers. You can find a phone number here: https://www.teamviewer.com/en/support/contact/

Please excuse that we cannot resolve any license/contract-related questions in the community. Thanks for your understanding, Esther

End of the March?! You're joking, right? You were able to remove this function day by day without any warnings, but bringing it back it will took you 3 months??? What should I say to my customers?

I need downgrade instruction to msi deplyoments.

  • Sorry @RyanVonEss. End of March is useless for our company. The changes broke the whole education plan of a ERP-GoLive.

We have now urgently to switch to a competitor otherwise the whole project is in danger. We'll check the possibilty of an extraordinary termination of the main part of our licences. Only for remote access and support we don't need this amount of licenses.

    It's disappointing!

  • End of March... I don`t know if you are able to take a look at a calendar or anything like that. In two months? Really?

We are paying for a 8 lines corporate license. You removed an essential feature in December and will bring it back 3 months later?

Are we getting an discount for this?

Absolutely fraud to remove allow control feature during presentation. When you force people to pay for a year in advance and don't give them a monthly payment option, then you are obligated to maintain the features they paid for, for that entire year. Do you have no understanding of how your product is used? The majority of the time I am using it to teach people, so I share my screen and allow control so they can scroll and click and learn. Criminal to remove this feature and then take months to re-add if ever. With COVID and so many people working remotely and so many competitors to your product now, this change is beyond short sighted. Hugely disappointed. I will be requesting a refund for the MONTHS I've paid for and cannot use the product.

  • Adding my vote of displeasure with the removal of this feature. We rely on this for monitored remote support from technicians outside of our organization. We will be using an old version until the March update.

Adding also my vote of displeasure with the removal of this feature. We will use this function this year to starting a new ERP support.

Now we use another product, and I am sure that we will take a new license year for this product.

How to shoot yourself in the foot when you're number one!!!

    Dear All,

I have some great news to share: We are in the final phase of testing the remote control functionality within meetings. The feature is being called Allow control going forward.

It is planned to have this functionality available in the next update which will be released next week.

    How to receive the update?

If your client is set to install new updates automatically, you will receive this update within approximately 7 days.

Alternatively, you can check for the new version manually after we post our Change Log here: https://community.teamviewer.com/English/categories/change-logs-en

You can also lookout for the update icon next to the Feedback button in the header bar in the client.

The Allow control feature will only be available to TeamViewer customers

    • with a Business, Premium, Corporate or Tensor plan
    • with a Meeting100 or Company license for TeamViewer Meeting, the standalone meeting product

Important to know is that activating Allow Control in meeting will consume a channel. Hosting a meeting without using remote control will not consume a channel.

We invite our free users to use TeamViewer for Remote Control for performing remote control.

    Kind regards,

    Ryan
