Feedback on the new UI

I've installed Teamviewer version 15.41.7 this morning to test the hopefully fixed high CPU usage.

I didn't expect a new UI coming, but wow, is this bad.

extremely unresponsive and slow
new session feature hardly working (also because of the performance issues)
hard to read, chaotic design
buttons shown to users that don't have access to the option (i.e. Usermanagement)
"Disable Teamviewer shutdown" policy preventing switch to old design
policies not updated to hide new options
msedgewebview2.exe skyrocketing in terms of Memory usage (450MB+) and constant CPU usage (10%+)

Tried it on my company Laptop (i7 10610u, 32GB Ram, with our company policy) as well as home PC (i5 13600k, 32GB Ram, without any policy). Both running really really terrible.

Also checked with a colleague and he's having the same issues.

Especially this hovering effect when you mouse over the list of clients is irritating to me. But I guess design is following Microsoft trends, which also retired good old yellow folder view and went with anemic, flat and dead design, where sliders and options pop up everywhere as you mouseover them, and sections are not clearly fenced, all is blended into a corps-like design, as vampires would **bleep** blood out of it. As per my oppinion :)

Correct, creating an account to establish outgoing connections is now needed. The receiving side does not need an account.

Could you please let me know how you want to connect? Do you want to give attended or unattended support (is there a person on the other side or not)?

Outsmarted. In current rash of irritation, thought I would just uninstall and reinstall v14 and set it to only update within that major version. Oh-Ha. Version 14 will only show the partial devices still in the old groups mentioned above. The migration to 15 moved some devices to the new managed groups which are not even visible to v14. So running v15 with the new UI is the only option. Joy.

To all the developers and management that had a say in the new TeamViewer, try walking a mile in a normal support engineer's shoes.

Actually get out of your labs and offices and go and sit with a real life, actual computer support engineer who uses your product - and watch the absolute absurdity of them having to use **Third Party Product** or another 3rd party support software company's product in order to teach customers how to use TeamViewer.

And talking of that - stop with the internet page pop up of how to use TeamViewer - that confuses end users more than it helps. We're talking to our clients and telling them how to use the product and then you go and put popups in front of the actual program we're trying to get end users to use!

LIterally no one at TeamViewer who makes these type of decisisons has actually ever used their own software in a real world support situation. It's impossible. Because if they had, there's no way they would irritate themselves and lead so many people to leave TeamViewer in droves.

Whoever made this decision, you're an *bleep*. Own your stupidity and do the right thing and fix it or resign and let someone else fix it. And to the next person in charge... ask the people who actually use your product; not people who think they know best - actually ask the people who genuinely do know best.

Rant over. Bye bye TeamViewer, hello **Third Party Product** ...

You're right. Some of the griping is just the "change is hard" thing. Most of it though it legitimate.

I have spent more time this week trying to move PCs from the restricted groups to the main groups. I had to figure out the process via trial and error. The documentation didn't even come close to providing a proper explanation.

And, the process itself makes little sense. I am guessing this whole migrating devices thing plays into a bigger picture. And that's fine if we get some sort of explanation. However, there was not explanation. Just a sudden blast of garbage upon opening a new interface.

If you want to know the problem, I can give it to you with a very simple explanation...

When I open one of my groups, there is absolutely no rhyme nor reason to the sorting of the items in the group. Supposedly the items are sorted by status. Beyond that, it is a mystery. This might be useful if the items were sub-sorted by name. However, that is not the case.

We are now forced into an extra click to sort the items by name. As one previous poster said... Yes. One extra click. Do that a hundred times each day multiplied by all of the other idiotic "little" hurdles we must make our way thru. Pretty soon you have a day full of frustration.

Another example... I needed to rename some of the items in one of my groups. There is NO clear concise way to accomplish that simplest of tasks. I need to actually login to the web and scroll way down to the bottom of the list of PCs and make a change there. That's right, the PC is listed higher up. But the higher up version doesn't allow a change.

In addition, after the change is made on the web, I don't see it in the app on my PC until I restart the app. Seriously? How backwards is the app anyway?

Yes. As you can tell, we are not happy. I am looking to move all of my PCs over to another solution. It is going to be a large project. Burning a large amount of time. For that I am angry.

One more thing...

It's not as simple as clicking the slider to go back to the old interface. I wish it was that simple. The old interface doesn't exist as it was. The so-called old interface is a bastardized version of what it was. We can't do any of the maintenance type things in the this so-called old interface that we used to be able to do. Simple things like changing the name on a device.

I reviewed the video links provided by the Community Manager in an effort to better understand this new UI. Well guess what, the views shown in the videos are not what we get when installing the host. From step one, the videos are useless... sorry, fail.

I really don't appreciate being told it's a matter of "accepting change".. I work in IT and I know what it's like when we have to push out changes to our employees. But we take the time to:

After that we continue to provide additional support where needed. I put in a support ticket with TeamViewer because the host ID no longer shows in the email received to trust devices. We were told we were possibly hacked. Again, I work in IT and we run a tight ship. Anything is possible but right now I am certain THAT is not the case. Out ticket was supposed to be escalated but its been weeks and no one replies - disappointing customer service and application upgrade.

We may also be on the lookout for for an alternative when time to renew... 😒

So i set up 'unattended Host Access' on my customers PC. I then put in our corporate licence log in email & password. Then the customer would appear on my pc in my list of devices. Is this correct ?

If so then surely if i am talking my customer through this process then i am giving them the log on details to our corporate account.

Also how would you categorize all these devices to make it quick & easy to offer support

I see that the old user interface will disappear in 7 months, at which point we will be forced to use the new interface. That is about the time my current contract with TeamViewer will be up for renewal. I will NOT be renewing. We have been a TeamViewer customer for over 10 years. Will be going to another product.

Typical idiocy of this new system, instructions say to send an email to the customer with a link for them to click on to join the session. A full 1/4 to 1/2 of all of our remote calls are because the customer's email system is not working, and they cannot receive emails. With the old system, they just double-click on the TeamViewer QS icon on their desktop, give me the ID and Password, and away we go. Why would they get rid of something that was so easy?

Don’t be surprised if Microsoft start developing their own support software and selling it to Managements companies.

**Third Party Product** works pretty good, so far.

I’m no paying my next TV subscription and start getting my users just to **Third Party Product**.

This is probably the end for TV, at least on my yearly subscription.

Might be too late when they realized they are loosing too many customers.

I've been using teamviewer for years through several compagnies, but this one I am the guy who decides what I want to use. I truely HATE this new TV SO MUCH that I will probably not renew my premium account and will find an alternative who's more IT friendly instead

You need to create a support ticket telling them you're leaving more than 28 days in advance. I just created mine 5 months in advance. Plenty of notice for them, and I have 5 months to get my new product working to my standards.

I get it - when there are no new features, designers kick-in with new design. This is disaster! Why changing fully functional things? Beside, I cannot change remote computer name anymore with new TV...I am seriously considering switching over to

[Removed as Community Guidelines] despite of all the drama and hussle with migration process. But ironically, TV did half of the jobe here - empowering new "Groups" organisation, all my compters went chaotic anyways, so [Removed as Community Guidelines] is cheaper, works, and I must reorganize my computers anyways.

With the release of [Windows] v15.43.6, we implemented the following accessibility improvements based on your feedback and the pain points you raised.

The ID and password are now visible directly without any extra click when signed in.

Therefore, the ID and password are now directly visible for both - users who are signed in and signed out.

The settings are now available from the sign-in screen – via the gear icon.

Connecting directly from the search bar is now possible by typing the remote participant's ID.

Of course, not all the feedback has been implemented, but it doesn't mean it's not taken into consideration.

Please keep raising your voice. All the posts are being reviewed and shared with the respective development and product teams.

Your feedback is vital for understanding how we can improve the product and provide you with the best remote connectivity experience.

I'm trying to work through these issues myself. The most reduction in productivity is the lack of detail on each client's status in the Full app that I use for admin. I manage almost 100 PCs and I need to see them all at a glance in a sortable list and as much detail as possible so I can see which need attention.

Please make a "Detailed" view in the Full client for us that allows us to see any column of detail we want and sort by that column. Seems like you let us "Add Filters", but let us add columns of client details like number of missing patches and sort by them please.

The ability to create Dynamic groups would also be appreciated. Like "name = 123** " and "module = Host" and "offline 30 days"

Also please make a "tight" spacing view and let us resize the window to any size we want.

In the old version, you could also click on a client's name to connect immediately, now you have to hover over the client's name, then click "Connect" on the far right.

The column names could be any machine property. If we have your asset management, which I do, that should open up more properties to see and sort by.

CPU, Ram, % free space, OS version, last OS login, all are useful.

Yes, this is on the list of computers, where checkbox on the left and Connect with 3 dots on the right pop up in blank space when you go over with mouse. I have been in a team of software developers in the past and we've had some psychologysts and brain specialists as advisers for software development. They pointed out some facts, which we should keep in mind when designing user interfaces, among those:

Brain likes to bring things in balanced order, so to have predictive paths to future. So developers should make GUI predictible and clear to human brains, so it can distinguish where which section begins, where are the borders, and what is what.
In same manner, all blinking effects, pop-ups and changes are irritating to eyes for the simmilar reason: brain needs to analyze what popped up, what's there blinking and adopt to new situation. So if list is changing when hovering with mouse ofer list items, eyes constantly send new signals to brain, which needs to re-think new situation again and again.
As my experinece is from times when Windows first introduced that anemic, flat design, which lacks colours and borders between sections, our instructors explicitly told us to try to avoid that blended-in, flat design, without distinctions between sections. Brain wants to hook up on borders and have it fixed in predictive area, so it can ignotre this area. If we ommit borders and visible distinctions, brain has nothing to adhere to and it constantly works, analyzing and rethingking the interface.

So, from my experince and my personal point of view, list of computers is much, much more readable if it is stable, has less space inbetween, and nothing changes with mouse over.

At OS level I'd think it probably performs better, and you probably also get more security with 64bit apps. Then secondly, why not? You built a 64bit version of Teamviewer which I would wager was for some of the same reasons. ;D

New user interface looks like it's designed by somebody who have never worked with the software, or people that should never be allowed to develop user interfaces..

Keep it simple. Just used 30 minutes with a customer to be able to connect to him, a job that normally took 5 minutes.

So I did a lot of **bleep** above, but the Asset Management section in the new full client is looking nicer.

TV, you have a long way to go but bringing functionality out of the web sites to the full client is appreciated.

Now 64bit Host, customizable columns, condensed console view, customizable remote control screen toolbars, ... and backup and android device support migrated to new version, please.

The new version of TeamViewer is a steaming pile.

I've used Teamviewer for 10+ years.

I used to use it to fix problems.

Now it is the problem.

It's completely unclear what you're supposed to do when you open the app on PC. How do you connect to a user?

Even if I run an older version, it redirects me to the website to log in. And then nothing happens. It never goes back to the app. The app never registers the login. Clicking the link to use the web interface doesn't work either.

You took a good product and destroyed it. What a horrible business decision.

Just roll everyone back to the old version that actually worked, and let's all pretend this debacle never happened.
