Installing TeamViewer Host on Linux systems?
Hi All. Our environment (TeamViewer Tensor) has the TeamViewer host installed on our Macs and PCs. A few of the PCs run in unattended access mode. Just got a request to use TeamViewer Host unattended access on a Linux system. (It might be ubuntu flavor.) I have no experience with Linux. I talked to TV support and they said all I have to do is register our account when the host installs. But it seems like other configuration is needed for Host agent. Does anyone have experience doing something like this?

Hi @net1994 ,
Thanks for reaching out to our Community! Our first advice is to double-check if the Linux devices are using Wayland or Xorg. The compatibility of TeamViewer with Wayland is still experimental, and it may be causing issues. Try to do the setup again using Xorg.
I'm looking forward to your reply to know if it worked. 🙋♀️

Thanks for the heads up on wayland or Xorg.
Though for my original question, what do I need to do to properly register the device and get it into specific groups for unattended access? I'm a noob when it comes to linux.

Hi @net1994 ,
Thanks for the question! To register the device and get it into specific groups for unattended access please follow the steps in our article:
On step 2, please make sure you use the Linux command lines for the assignment ID.
Once the device is added to your company profile you will be able to manage it the same way you manage the Macs and PCs.
I hope it helps! 🍀 Let us know how it goes.

Thanks again! Once it's registered can I 'drag/drop' the contact into a new folder in the Admin console to share out to other technicians?

Hi @net1994 ,
It's my pleasure to help!Drag/drop is not possible at the moment with TeamViewer Remote Interface - you welcome you to share your insights on how to improve the software by posting in our Ideas Hub - but, rest assured that you can easily add the device to the correct group by selecting the group and clicking + Add device to group.
Let us know if you need any further help. 😄
