TeamViewer will be moving to a new data center
Hi everybody,
I would like to inform you about the upcoming movement of our infrastructure to a new data center. This upgrade will allow for a better overall service quality and provide additional scalability.
The migration is scheduled with an 8 hours duration for
Saturday, April 8th, 2017, 8:00 PM (CEST) to Sunday, April 9th, 2017, 04:00 AM (CEST).
The move will impact the availability of our service. While existing sessions will not be affected during the move, you will not be able to start new sessions or add participants to existing sessions.
In the wake of the migration you may also be faced with a DNS issue if an outdated DNS entry is still cached on your server. This may prevent you from logging on to our service. In that case, you need to have the DNS entry deleted (e.g. by ipconfig /flushdns). Additionally, you can try to use a public DNS resolver (e.g. Google or OpenDNS).
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.
Best,
Esther

Hello,
please tell me where is the new Datacenter located. In Germany, the EU or outside the EU? Which data privacy law is effective?
Thanks a lot in advance

Hi Esther
Where will the Datacenter be located: Within the EU?
Thanks for you reply!

Hi @mLipok
Most users will not be affected as the DNS entries will remain the same. Customers with a static IP route will be affected, however, and will have to adjust the firewall rules accordingly. Please reach out to our support for more details if you need help with that.

Will LAN Connections work during the move?
By the way timing is pretty poor for US eastern standard businesses which are open for business on weekends (Saturday is a busy shopping day). Sunday would have been preferred.

What is being used to migrate? It may be too late into the project but note that if you use DoubleTake Move you can migrate servers with near zero downtime. The mirroring process can take effect while in production and the only downtime is the actual cutover process which takes about the time for the server to reboot. Curious as to which solutions TeamViewer has in place for this large project...

Dear Esther,
We currently have alot of clients using static routes within Windows to route their traffic to the teamviewer servers via a specified gateway. The command looks like this
route add 178.77.120.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.55.1
I was wondering if the IP-block of the teamviewer servers is going to change because of the migration and if they are going to change can you you provide me with the new block so I can re-configure the routes in advance?2 -
Hi @RFinn
Yes, the IP ranges will change. To get the new ones, may I ask you to contact our support engineers directly? Thank you in advance!
