TeamViewer not connecting

Teamviewer is displaying "Not ready. Please check your connection" However, I know my connection is fine. Also, when I sent in my log files for help, they told me to open port 5938. But what is confusing me is that the other computer in the house is not having any issues, and its over the same router. I do not understand how to "open ports" anyway. I just want this to work. Somebody please help.
