Lost access to Authy

Due to staging my phone, I've lost my Teamviewer-Authy account. Now trying to disable 2FA. I do have my recovery code, but when I try to deactivate 2FA, it only will ask for the code from Authy. Can someone guide my through the procedure how to deactivate 2FA using the recovery key? Guides on the community do not provide the information.
