Today, TeamViewer fails to establish a remote management connection with the error:
Authentication rejected
Nothing has changed on this system for TeamViewer to cease functioning. Has the TeamViewer service been hacked?
Hi Terrie,
The TeamViewer service has not been hacked.
To find out what happened, would you mind sharing a bit more information about your setup with the community?
Thanks, Esther
I'm getting the following message: Authentication rejected
How can we fix this so that I can get back to work.
How do I fix this ? When I try and connect to remote partner : "Authentication Reject"
When I remote to partner I am currently getting this message. I have been connecting prior without issues. Is there a quick fix?
I was connected to a remote machine then rebooted it. Now I get the message 'authentication rejected'. I logged out of TeamViewer then back in and had to the user reboot. Same message. Opened a case but awaiting a reply. Not sure what to do about it. I hesitate to uninstall/reinstall TeamViewer because that is not a fix for the underlying issue.
Did you try to connect via password or confirmation?
Hi everyone, I seem to be suffering from the same issue, having uninstalled unrelated applications on the target computer, and then restarting Windows, etc. I have ensured the correct password is stored against the target computer in my TeamViewer. As my Mum is some way away I cannot visit to interrogate her computer, etc. Really frustrating because TeamViewer is usually so reliable. I have tried via confirmation also, and my Mum is not asked to confirm before I then receive the authentication rejected message .... ☹️
My parents live far away and within the last couple days when trying to help them I haven't been able to connect. They have a Samsung A0370s model. I have the TeamViewer Host app installed on their device. The error I'm receiving is: Authentication rejected. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling TeamViewer Host App by using **Third Party Product** (another remote app) but to no luck. I tried to restart my parents device and that failed also. I then signed out and signed back in and now the error says the username and password do not match. I've made sure the password and user account is correct but I continue receiving that same error. I've logged into other devices and it works fine. I've even tried changing my password and still can't login. My husband eventually set up a TeamViewer account of his own and we tried logging in with the new account and the error is username and password do not match. I believe I tried all I could and would like some assistance please. We live far away so it's not easy for us to just walk over and and fix if for them. Is there something we can do to resolve this issue? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
