Teamviewer can't open on OSX

Options

We have a new Mac with Big Sur. When opening Teamviewer, it says: TeamViewer is not open anymore. It looks like another instance of TV did not close properly, and the Activity Monitor shows two instances open, but only one can be closed. TV can no longer be used. Is there any way to get TV closed? Force Quit doesn't work.

@pierrelebear Do you have "Start TeamViewer with system" turned on? Can you please check if you have a TeamViewer icon in menu bar in the upper right corner of your screen? Or a "running app" icon (with a small dot below it) in the Dock? If so, does the TeamViewer window open if you use the menu bar icon's Show TeamViewer, or click the running app icon in the Dock?

In case there is neither a (running) app icon in the Dock, nor a menu bar icon, or if clicking them does not open the TeamViewer window, please open Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities). From the menu bar choose View > All Processes. Find the TeamViewer_Service process in the list, and quit it. That should restart TeamViewer and you should be able to access the TeamViewer window from menu bar icon or the Dock, as described above.

If "Start TeamViewer with system" is turned on, it is normal that there are three processes for TeamViewer in Activity Monitor, two of them should be listed with process name TeamViewer, and one of them (running as root) is listed as TeamViewer_Service.
