ID request change
I found out today one of my business clients has had an unauthorized teamviewer access from an unknown source. I went in and changed all the access passwords in the company today. The issue was with only one computer and I wonder if there is a way to permanently change the ID for that computer?
Also, I have the access ID for the unauthorized access visitor. Is there any way to find out where it was coming from or even what city and town possibly?
Thank you in advance!

Hi @W1AST,
I’m sorry to hear about the issue you were experiencing.
A TeamViewer ID is a unique numeric ID automatically assigned to each device when TeamViewer is installed. This ID is designed not to change and should remain constant even if the software is uninstalled and reinstalled. Therefore we encourage you to make use of TeamViewer’s password-less Easy Access functionality and optionally configure a strict AllowList as a most modern and secure setup for unattended access. If you opt for the optional personal password instead, please make sure to regularly review it for password best practices. For more information, please refer to
Also, please have a look at this article about TeamViewer and Scamming and report what happened to you via this page: Report a scam.
Our dedicated team will assist you with this issue.
Kind regards,
