When I login to the base laptop, I am still being connected on free trial and get cut off after few minutes.
I have paid for the subscription. I am frustrated but understand it may be an issue on my part.

It seems that your account has been activated already.
If you have faced the same issue, you may miss to add your remote computer's to your TeamViewer account.
