I’ve just installed the app on my iPad, I go to the account settings and there doesn’t appear to be a way to sign in. I’ve tried everything I can think of. Help.

Did you see any error message on your device when sign in?
Usually there is an extra action of adding trusted device, kindly follow the instruction to confirm trusted device and sign in.
