With a license, you can connect to Windows XP devices.

With the free version, you can't connect to Windows XP devices.

    Hope this helped. 😊

    Hello @groton6,

Indeed, we receive this question quite frequently. 😅

    TL;DR

Connecting to a Windows XP machine requires a license because the free version is only usable with the latest version of TeamViewer on both ends.

    Explanation

If you are using the free version, you must update your TeamViewer clients to the latest version. The latest version is currently v15.

You will find all the information you need in our Knowledge Base article here:

📌 Note: If your hardware is not compatible with the latest version, there is nothing we can do to make the free version work. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

As Windows XP does not support the latest TeamViewer version, using the free version won't be working in this scenario.

Please find all the information regarding compatibilities in the article below:

However, if you have a license you should not have any issue with connecting to Windows XP devices.

Do you have a license? Or are you using the free version?

    All the best,
