Team viewer query and Windows 11

Hello,

I've been looking to quickly use Team viewer to help out a family member and finding it rather confusing for the person I'm trying to help that's running Windows 11.

Now I'm running Linux and load T.V and find I get a screen that shows my partner I.D (if I wanted help from someone) and I bid I enter the other persons I.D and password to help them. From my perspective it's fine however the family member I'm trying to help runs Windows 11, has tried installing the application and was diverted to the MS store and upon launching the app after doing so sees no form of partner I.D to tell me? Not sure why but all they have is a username and password screen - so does this mean they need an account for me to help them? Is this a new feature?

Just wanted to add some insight and clarity for both yourself and others that face this. So the issue lied with S mode. It’s a security feature of Microsoft designed to keep you safe only installing from the Microsoft store. You can turn the feature off and once we did, we were able to install Team viewer as normal.

I would suggest asking the partner to download TeamViewer directly from our website: https://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/windows/

Hello, thanks. Will try again but before this showed a prompt that it needs to be downloaded in the Microsoft store instead.. then we ran into the above issue. Will try this again later!
