How do I get version 12 to work?

My client pays for version 12 and that is the one I downloaded. Everything was working fine up until this afternoon. It is now asking me to update TeamViewer but my client says that if I do I will not be able to work with him since he paid for version 12. Not sure what to do, please assist

TeamViewer connection can be established between equivalent TeamViewer version or from newer TeamViewer version to older TeamViewer version, but not other way around.

If your client has a version12 license, you would need to have a version12. Therefore, as your client mentioned, please make sure that both sides are using the version they purchased.

On the other hand, the issue you mentioned might be related to the known issue which has been resolved. You can check more information from our status page: TeamViewer Status

Could you please restart TeamViewer services and try again the connection?

👉 On Windows, completely close the remote TeamViewer including restarting the TeamViewer service. (Start --> run --> services.msc -> find TeamViewer and restart it).
