Can I send touch events to a non android device from a PC using a mouse?

I am using teamviewer host to control some remote touch based devices. They are built on Linux. The issue I have is the UI hides the mouse cursor and does not respond to mouse events. On our Android devices teamviewer automatically uses the mouse as a touch input on the remote machine but I can't find a way to enable this on our Linux based devices. Is there a way to change the default behaviour on a non android device to enable touch emulation?
