Do I Need a Remote Access License?

I'm trying to help a friend of mine, but when I attempt to add them as a contact, it says "user account not found." Do I need a remote access license? And do they need a TeamViewer account as well? I'm brand new to this program, so I'm relatively clueless. Any help is appreciated.

When you were connecting to your friend, did you connect through TeamViewer ID?

You may try to add the TeamViewer ID as a contact into your TeamViewer account. It is similar as adding a contact but you choose add a remote device instead. Only TeamViewer ID is needed and you may also add an alias to differentiate the device if needed.

On the other hand, if you would like to add a contact with TeamViewer account, please advise your friend to set up a TeamViewer account with their preferred email address. Then you may try to add as a contact by searching the email address.
