Quality Switching Causes Flickering in Version: 15.34.4

Hey—

I was probably a couple minor updates back but after updating to 15.34.4, the connection quality switching has become distracting to the point that it's unusable.

It did switch quality previously too (you know, between slightly blurry pixels vs 100% crisp) but the transition was pretty much seamless. Now every single transition involves a black screen flicker (of the TV client window, not my entire local screen.)

Are there any solutions to avoid these redraws? I can work with the blurriness or a bit of lag just fine usually, but the redraw makes me lose my place.

Connection is fine, gigabit on both sides.

Version: 15.34.4 (30c336d9f03)

OS client: MacOS 12.6

OS target: Win11

Thanks for your posts and all the information.

Currently, I was unable to replicate this issue when connecting from my Mac to my PC. Altering the quality, resolution, or scaling aspects did not result in a redraw, blurriness, or black screen. This means that there could be local conflicts on one of the devices causing it.

In this case, we would recommend performing a complete uninstall of TeamViewer on both devices, including removing plist files on the Mac and reg files on Windows. Once completely uninstalled, please download and install the latest version here:

Should the issue persist, as it sounds like at least a few of those in this thread may have purchased a license, we recommend reaching out to our support teams directly so they may request log files and ultimately help resolve the issue; as the TeamViewer community is a user-driven community, we are unable to access nor request log files here. The final call on this, the next step I'm going on public complaints nobody wants. This problem is so frustrating, knowing that people are paying for solid gold quality remote desktop solutions, and it is not cheap either. Most of the people I know are switching to **Third Party Product**. So once again, I'm using the 2017 Retina display on my MacPro; my PC has a 4K display. There is not a single configuration of resolution, scaling, or quality that works. Why is this? Nothing to do with connection quality. If I'm using a PC, it works. I noticed many minor issues before connecting the MAC to PC, but this one is the worst. 99% of producers/supervisors use Macs laptops for financing/traveling and, of course, color-sensitive quality screens like retina displays and PC for production level in their offices...So, this has to work ASAP, no excuse.

As you can see, the first post in this thread was in October 2022. This is unacceptable. You need to react and fix this because it is impossible to work this way. This flickering blank screen switching is so frequent sometimes that it interrupts thinking. I'm working and typing this mail using Teamviewer now, and you can feel the frustration in this email...

To switch a little on the tech side. From what I see, this is some screen resolution and optimization problem. Quality is the highest priority these days. The threshold of switching from speed to quality has to be fixed. And don't forget the main point. Mac-PC relationship is the problem, not MAC-MAC or PC-PC. I'm not a programmer; you people are.

We are ALL looking forward to finding the solution to continue using this software in the future. Simple as that, and thank you in advance.

Have the same issue when connecting from my laptop to my PC at home. I found out that when "original" in "view->scaling" options is selected, it stops flickering. My laptop is with a old 1080P panel and my PC is with a 4K monitor. So I can see only 1/4 of the connected screen with quite large text size. But it's still much better than flickering on every key typing.
