A frequently used procedure for waking a PC consists of addressing a router in the local network via a DNS service. Through port forwarding, the router then transmits a magic packet to the target computer in its own LAN, which switches it on. This method is necessary if the target computer can only use an IPv4 address.
So far so good.
However, if the computer in the LAN has also been assigned an IPv6 address, it should - in theory - be possible to send the magic packet directly to this IPv6 address via the Internet. This way you could ditch the DNS service and the router.
Is my assumption correct and does TeamViewer plan to support this alternative procedure?
