On your partners side screen sharing is currently not possible

My client upgraded to the latest version of TeamViewer (15) and now I receive this message when connecting to them:

"On your partners side screen sharing is currently not possible"

It was working fine until he upgraded. What changed?

    To add,

The client downgraded back to 14, works fine.

    Hi @BradfordDallas,

Thanks a lot for reaching out here!

    This is interesting.

Any chance you know on which operating system (and its exact version) your client is running on their device?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Jean,

Thanks for the response. So this is happening on multiple clients. Ranging from Linux to Windows 10/11/Server etc.

This has happened on 4 different sites and accounts.

Systems that I had zero issues connecting to before now display this message when I try to connect. This has caused a major pain point for support with our customers since I have to ask them to downgrade. Not sure what has changed, but when I have them downgrade, it starts working again. Possible certificate problem?

Thanks for your help on this

    Brian

Thanks a lot for coming back to me.

It's too early to make any assumption - but I'll talk with our engineers and see if they have also heard about any similar happening since the last release.

I'll get back to you as soon as I've something to share.

In the meantime, I hope it won't cause too many issues; we apologize for any inconvenience caused on your side.

    Hi @BradfordDallas,

I spoke with my team and they told me that this error occurs when Wayland is enabled.

Have you maybe also performed an OS update?

We have an article explaining how to use TeamViewer with Wayland:

Let me know if this helps!
