@DonnaHome You will need to either have physical access or remote access by having someone who is physical to the device, give you the random remote password, to the home device at first and follow the instructions in the Knowledge Base article posted above. Once you have it set, there are no further steps needed as the next time you try to connect to the home computer with your laptop, it will still ask for the password but instead of relying on needing to know the random one, you can input the personal password instead.
Thank you. This seems to have worked while I am sitting w/both laptop and desktop next to each other. I will have to try it again after I reboot both of them. My fingers are crossed. Again, thank you very much
Help. How do I log into my home pc from a laptop at a different location where I cannot see the password at the home PC that TeamViewer is insisting I input into my laptop that is miles away? I cannot see a way to enable remote login/connection using the password I have assigned to my home pc.
Hello @DonnaHome Welcome to our Community and thank you for your first post! 🌏️ You can absolutely set a static password for a remote device. It won't replace the random password that shows. It is just adding this static password in the advanced settings. We refer to a static password as a personal password. The Knowledge Base article below will outlined the instructions for how to establish this on the remote computer.
Remote control via personal password (teamviewer.com) Let us know how it goes and if you need further help. 👍️
Thank you for your help. I guess I explained it wrong. I wish to log on to my home computer while I am away from it using my laptop. TeamViewer is insisting that I use the password that is displayed on my home computer which, of course, I cannot see. How can I set my home computer so that I can log in/on using its 'personal' password? Again, thank you for taking the time to help me.
