The new 'Connect with ID' feature means I have lost access to my machines

Question

I am on the road a lot and use Teamviewer to access my Mac and Windows devices at home.

Attempting to connect this morning and I receive a new 'Connect with ID' prompt, requesting me to:

"Please enter the password displayed on the participant's device."

This requirement defeats my entire use case for using Teamviewer. As I am on the road, I do not have the ability to see my screen at home.

Is there any way around this new security requirement?

Just got hit by this also. NOTHING was changed on my home computer, but suddenly today I cannot login using TeamViewer because it is asking me for my "participants" password. I'm trying to access a a computer clearly listed under MY "managed devices". It's a windows 10 box running headless, and it is over 50 miles away. Using TeamViewer Web.

This has never been a problem until now.

Thanks for the additional details!

Are you starting the connection from an Android device?

If yes, please update TeamViewer to the newest version. The update should fix the issue, according to the main discussion of this issue:

Hi Carol, thanks for the reply.

Yes, I am connecting using the same account I set up Teamviewer with, the same way I always do, under my managed devices.

Something changed when I logged in this morning. I've done this a million times and never seen this message until today.
