When I connect remotely to a locked device I need to enter a login password, which gets displayed openly above the iPad soft keyboard. Is there a way to hide the keystroke input bar on the iPad/iPhone?
Hi @Peter johnson, Thank you for the detailed information. In general, anything displayed on the local device’s screen will also appear on the remote device during a session. With that in mind, our first recommendation is to disable predictive text on your iPad. If it does not appear on your local device, it will not appear on the remote Mac either.
As a tip, you can check the iPad’s keyboard settings and toggle off Predictive Text. Additionally, you may want to double‑check whether any other iPad settings are causing predictive text to appear.
Secondly, if you are a paid license user, you can enable Black Screen on the remote device so that no one at the remote location can see the screen during your session. Please refer to the following article for more details: TeamViewer Black Screen
Hope this helps! Best,
Chisa
Hi Chisa,
In answer to your questions:
The operating systems of both devices involved Please specify which one is the local device (the one you are using) and which one is the remote device (the one you are connecting to). This distinction is important for troubleshooting.
The local device is an iPad (10th Generation), iOS 26.3.1
The remote device is a MacBook Air, OS 12.7.06
Confirmation of your scenario Are you trying to enter the login password of the remote device’s operating system through TeamViewer? Are we understanding it correctly?
Yes, I am entering the login password of the remote device's OS
More detail about the “keystroke input bar” When you mention hiding the keystroke input bar on the iPad/iPhone, could you explain what exactly you are referring to? If possible, please share a screenshot of the screen where this appears so we can better understand what you are seeing.
When I type the login password for the remote computer, the local device (iPad) displays what I am typing. I want to hide my keystrokes so that people nearby cannot see the remote computer password. Please see screenshot attached, where I have highlighted my keystrokes.
Thank you, Barrie
