Is there a way to avoid disconnect when activating my VPN?

Hi,

I have a PC with Win 10 that I use as a media server. From time to time I connect to it via TV and activate my VPN (Windscribe). When I activate the VPN from the Windscribe UI, my TV session disconnects and sometimes doesn't actually reconnect.

Is there maybe a setting that I could change to ensure the conenction between my host and client isn't severed?

Typical. I spent a couple of months trying to figure out a solution and just as I post this I realise that Windscribe had an option activated which closed all TCP ports every time a new connection was established.
