Win7 prof 64bit (client) To Ubuntu 16.04.2 (Host) via TV12= Black screens

My friend was not able to remote control my AMD computer (64bit) because he could not see my desktop. It showed his end as black. Mine is a recent clean reinstall of Ubuntu and the drivers are up todate. We gave up and I said I would ask a question here. Is there a solution?

My friend's Win 7 prof  was not able to remote control my AMD Ubuntu computer (64bit) because my desktop stayed  black. We were not able to find the cause.

What do you suggest will cure the black screen connection?
