On the Remote Control page, my computer's TeamViewer ID shows and there is a dash "-" in the password space. I cannot change the pw with the random pw function or by typing.

Can you kindly check on TeamViewer Client about Password settings please?
The path is TeamViewer -> Gear Wheel ⚙ on the top right corner -> Security -> Random Password - Password Strength -> change it to the suitable strength option.
