Dear TeamViewer Community,

Starting October 2024, TeamViewer Free users who haven’t already upgraded will move to our new interface. This ensures they have access to the latest features and enhanced security.

Please note: For a limited time, you can switch back to the classic interface if needed.

Benefits of the new TeamViewer interface

Improved security: Connect with trusted end users through advanced connection transparency and user verification, providing peace of mind with every session.
Session links: Easily share a session link to connect, simplifying the process. Supporters will still be able to connect using the ID and password, which can be found on the home screen of the new interface.
Onboarding support: After switching to the new interface, we’ve included a helpful onboarding guide to help supporters get started quickly and efficiently.
For licensed supporters on the classic interface who connect to Free end users, rest assured that all existing connection methods will remain unchanged.

Luckily we choose alternative a few years ago, at the moment we're using half/half, teamviewer descending, so it will be not painful to loose it completely. Using TV for decades, also paid, but they performed poorly, giving nothing on reviews and feedback from business customers. no idea who runs the development group, maybe one of the teletubbies, this would explain the new GUI which is simply horrible

Hi, I do not like the new interface either. Hard to get around and get things done, which were so easy in the old interface. Do not try to fix something that is NOT broken. Support for customers is difficult with this new interface as all kinds of weird setups do not fit the use of TeamViewer in our case. For systems inside an organization it's fine but with all pc's i connect outside of our organization this new interface and way of working just does not work. Maybe better explanations could help.

I Love TV, however have tried new interface (Free User) numerous times…….WAY to difficult / confusing. Always revert to Classic. If forced to use new will look for another RA program.

Well, it has allready been said; But as a long time (+10 years) paying costumer I also find the new interface really annoing! Its ugly, and I have totally missed my overview…

I have clients running on old OS, and since introduction of new interface, I can not manage my clints device from one place anymore….

And honestly I hate the use of 'Session code' over classic 'Partner ID'.

I would LOVE to see the old interface again! I have yet to see a comment from a costumer who actually like the new interface that we all are forced to use now!

i think the biggest weakspot of the new look is, u can't safe passwords for added mashines.

WHY? why always change a product, if its perfect to use ? Bordom ? New Management ?

I have no problem with the aesthetics of the new interface. The design is aligned to current trends and fits with the visual style of Windows 11 and modern computing world. BUT: I wish TeamViewer must fix first the Microsoft Edge WebView issues of the white New UI before removing free access to the blue Classic UI. That's because killing Edge WebView processes on Task Manager means interrupting your TeamViewer experience. Or else switch to other engines aside from Edge. TeamViewer Classic has been running without depending on CPU-hungry engines, thus why not use alternatives that don't need to eat lots of RAM and CPU. The real culprit here is not the TeamViewer New UI itself, but rather its dependence on continuously high CPU-consuming Microsoft Edge. Putting Edge always-on while using TeamViewer slows down other opened apps as well, and even increases electric bills. That may affect also the compatibility with older computers. I can only embrace the new version if CPU usage gets very very low.

Whoever is in charge of this boat. Please listen to us! Do not force us to change the UI.
The old UI is simple and clear. Most of us are professionals who use tons of different advanced tools.
Let TeamViewer stay as simple and clear as the old UI.
Add "all the benefits of the new TeamViewer interface" to the old UI if you have to.
But let us choose. Simple.

I do wonder, like I do with Microsoft Windows, actually how many of th PR, employees and programmers would actually qualify as 'Power Users'?

It would be interesting to know how many 'Power Users' of TeamViewer are actually using the new interface since it was introduced?

I am retired at an age of 75 having been lucky to encounter PC's in 1983 and support many friends and colleagues who are also now of a similar age.

To be confounded by the difficulties of new technology in computers and phones, let alone difficult software interfaces as well as scams, hacking fears and password authentication complexities! Many will unfortunately just give up!

I had switched to TeamViewer several months ago, after a new computer, and being disappointed in a competing, free, product.

Now, since October, it won't work for me at all. Whether CLassic, or NEW Interface, it logs me out in about 8 seconds, and tells me I have to wait about an hour to log back in - for another 8 seconds.

Ridiculous! Just bring back the old system - so much netter than this.

Don't you see, they don't care about the free users, that's not where there money comes from. Have a look around the new interface and check out their pricing and it becomes apparent that this is just another cash grab. Free users as well as the plebian paid accounts are limited to 3 managed devices. This simply will not work for me as I have 4 devices OF MY OWN that I have TeamViewer installed on, and that does not include my siblings, parents, and friends that I have installed TeamViewer on to help them remotely. They are trying to push more and more people into buying it. More signs this is just another cash grab brought about by corporate greed is the fact that adding a mere 3 additional users to the plebian paid plan is just pennies away from the cost of the next tier allowing a near 100x multiple of managed devices? And why would they charge as much to connect to 6 users as 200 (in addition to the list of other benefits), greed.

Free user or not, I have been in support of TeamViewer since the early days and have on multiple occasions offered to give them money in support, or suggested creating a "Personal" license that could be purchased, but they declined (this is likely because if they created a "Personal" license, business accounts would choose to purchase that one instead and they would lose out on sales, leading back to greed).

TeamViewer is a corporation like any other that are beholden to the shareholders. If you believe for a minute that they care about the free-user (leeches) that suck their resources with no benefit other than expanding the user base to increase market share, data collection, and word of mouth, then you are sorely mistaken. While these things do offer a benefit to corporations, the recent actions lead me to believe they now have enough market share to believe they can start bullying more people into paying, or into paying for more expensive subscriptions. Limiting functionality such as being seen here is one clear sign that this is the case.

If they do truly care about all of their users (and not just the paying ones), then this feedback will be heeded and the decision will be reversed. If this all boils down to money, then nothing will change, and free users will be told to pound sand if they don't like it, which is exactly what I will do. I will find a competitor, switch all of mine, my family's, and my friend's computers over, and turn my interests elsewhere, taking my portion of the market share with me, along with all of the word of mouth I have spread, not to mention the loss of whatever data collection you are performing.

Take heed of the outcry of the masses or you will be sure to lose loyal supporters.

Sorry, but you broke literally everything with the new UI. It has become unusable this way. May major pain point ist: Unattended access has become impossible if your user doesn not have admin rights. This was and is still working with the old UI. As soon as you switch to the new one it is not anymore possible even if you have a seperate Admin-User account to install and switch on the Easy-Access. This ting is so broken now, we will leave and use an alternative solution. Goodbye TV.

Paying customer here since … forever!

Tried the new interface, nope, not gonna happen.

As some here mentioned, back to the drawing board. Or, at least, let customers a choice.

I've been using the new TeamViewer interface for about four days now, and unfortunately, my experience has been quite frustrating. The interface shows certain contacts as inactive, even though I was able to connect to them. I spent 15 minutes trying to troubleshoot a client’s PC, thinking the issue was on their end, only to find out that the problem was with my TeamViewer interface. The new look didn’t update the status properly, and I had to reboot the software and manually force it to reload the contact list. Even after that, it didn’t refresh correctly. I had to navigate to the "Managed Devices" list, search again, and only then did the contact show as active. The dock panel, however, was still incorrectly indicating that the contact was disconnected.

As a result, I decided to roll back to the old interface.

Speaking for myself and, I believe, many other professionals who rely on your software, we use TeamViewer primarily for remote connection, file transfer, and maintaining privacy during our work sessions. We don't need or want the additional features that clutter the interface—just the essentials that allow us to work efficiently in a secure and private environment.

Please consider simplifying the interface or offering an option for users who prefer a more streamlined experience.

Please stop forcing everyone to the new interface. I have tried it several times and always go back to the old interface. It seems as if the overall sentiment of your customer base agrees with keeping the original interface. It's concerning that you continue to push the new interface on users and I am considering doing away with Teamviewer when my subscription is up for renewal.

Is anybody at TeamViewer READING these message?
The overwhelming Majority of the end-user community do not like the new interface, myself included.

The ONLY thing which might be better appears to be the possibility of enhanced security. But, even in the old & LOVED interface you can set Approved Users and everyone else is blocked.

What does the New interface offer that is an actual Enhancement to that Security?

I left feedback on this about 6 months ago when the "try the new interface" switch appeared in TeamViewer, and again today since I hadn't checked on it in several months. Unfortunately, the main usability issues I raised months ago are still present, and they disrupt my workflow, so I wanted to provide this feedback here in the hope it reaches the UI team.

My work setup relies on MS PowerToys "Fancy Zones" where I typically split my screen so OneNote occupies roughly 2/3rds of the display and the TeamViewer computer list occupies the remaining 1/3rd. This setup has worked well for years with the current client and can display dozens of computers at once. However, the new interface cannot be resized as flexibly, making it impossible to arrange my windows this way.

Additionally, the new "dock" for the computer list is even less flexible. The dock seemingly cannot be resized and must attach to a screen edge rather than float freely where I would like to place it. On top of this, the new interface feels like a Microsoft-style web app disguised as a native app, which I don't care for. But that's just personal preference. These design choices feel like a step backwards.

Teamviewer on my laptop has once again changed to the new interface.

I want to switch back to the old/classic interface but the option to do this has disappeared.

I find the new interface causes issues and is unusable for me.
