I have had dozens of issues with the free version of TeamViewer timing out on me. I use it to help my family members and love the tool when it works great. I believe that I have accidently at times installed TeamViewer but when I select unattended access, it somehow flags that it is no longer the free version and I constantly get plagued with 5 minute time restrictions.
So now that I was using that install method on my family's computer (who all live far away), I would need to somehow uninstall and reinstall the program to ensure that there is no time limit.
My request is to easily switch the account to Free and that it also fixes the connections of all of the computers associated with the account. It should be an easy fix instead of a reinstall pain. Thanks for your consideration.
Re-reading your issue, I will have to correct my original answer. I assumed this was about false "business use" alerts, however, as you stated: reinstalling fixed this, so it's not a problem attached to an ID but to the installation itself.
In this case, you could remotely fix this problem using a QuickSupport module in order to reinstall the full version of TeamViewer. Please keep in mind, that also a mixed use, i.e. both private and commercial use, requires a license.
I have forwarded your suggestion to our product management. Such ideas are always welcome, although I can not promise when or if this Feature will be implemented, as the decision is based on public demand.
I still have some old computers (my mom's, my brother's, my two old ones that are also already recycled etc.) added in my TeamViewer account even though they don't exist anymore. How many computers is still allowed to have in order to use TeamViewer for free?
I installed TV11 and don't remember which licence option I chose.
Now I get notification "Your trial period has expired!" and unable to connect to this PC.
I have deleted and reinstall TV11 with NON-comercial licence type.
But still have such message and unable to connect.
How to fix it?
I keep getting this on 2 PCs that I've installed this on. The 3 other PCs never have this issue??
How do I fix these too machines so it doesn't time out after 5 minutes.

With the free version of TeamViewer you can have up to 50 computers/contacts and it still be a free account. If want to add more than 50 devices in your account, you may consider purchasing a business license and you would be able to make unlimitedd connections.
You can always delete any computers/contacts in your account if you are no longer connecting to them.

If memory serves the way I got arround this prior to purchasing my license was to do an install on another computer (not any of the ones I had previously installed on) and when I did that I chose personal under the dropdown durring the install.
give that a try.
The error you're getting means you are using a custom host module rather than the normal one.
The custom module is aimed towards business use, so companies can front their own logos. This requires a licence.
If you'd like to get rid of this error, you'll have to reinstall it using the standard software here:
I understand that V12 is in Beta at the moment. I am asking if V12 is going to require a license because there is a warning notice on the Upgrade Version that a license may be required. I am a personal home user working with family & friends & would not want to have this capability lost. Will there still be a FREE version of V 12?

We believe that private users should be able to help their friends and family with TeamViewer and count on our free users to provide us with valuable feedback on our software. That is why TeamViewer will of course continue to be free for personal use in version 12.
Only users who wish to work with TeamViewer 12 in a commercial environment will have to purchase a licence or an update of the licence they have. The message you received is targeted at users who already own a licence for a lower TeamViewer version because we want them to be aware of the fact that updating the software may require a licence update as well.
If you are using TeamViewer to connect to your friends and family only, you can simply go ahead and start using the free version of TeamViewer 12 :)

I made the misstake to install Teamviewer as both personal and company user eventhough i only have it for personal use. I now uninstalled but still Teamviewer reports as trial license expired when i try to use without installing or if i install as a personal use.
How can this be solved ?

That is great news. I use TeamViewer to help Family and Friends with issues. Although I have said that due to the important of such a great program I would be willing to purchase a single license. Can not remember how we functioned before...talking over issues on the phone...asking what 'they' see on their screen etc etc.
Did you uninstall and re-install as a non-comercial on all of your clients?
TeamViewer is very cunning in how they monitor their licenses. If any of your machines are set to commercial or both. Then your license will be marked as such.
As a side note, if you have a personal account and have a vendor log into your machine, it may warn you that they think your commercially using TeamViewer, and ask if you should purchase it. If you are actually using it for personal purposes this will not be an issue. I have many residential customers who use teamviewer for their remote control of their home computer. I will help them using my commercial account and they have never reported an issue. However other vendors I work with, have had issues.
Uninstall it from ALL machines you installed Teamviewer on, Then start from scratch, and when you install make sure you use the correct option. OR use a different email address.
I'll probably installed by mistake Teamviewer version 11 for commercial use. After about 2 weeks I tried using Teamviewer, but the application displayed a message telling me that the trial period has expired.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Teamviewer 11 for private use, but I always say that the trial period has expired.

I am getting a false "COMMERCIAL USE DETECTED" alert. That's a very serious problem and it's not the first time it happens. My brother was in urgent need of help with his pc and asked me to help him, but I couldn't because your app blocked me. He says It almost got him fired but he ended up having to pay 50 bucks to have his computer fixed that same day.
I've had this issue before. My account has less than 10 machines assigned to it, all from friends and family, some even obsolete. Yet everytime I try to connect I get this annoying and very insulting pop-up calling me a cheater, sort of speak. Can you please solve this once and for all so I won't have to contact you again on this matter or, worse, face a similar situation and get desperate? I would really appreciate that. And please do it ASAP. Thank you.

But now it is counting down because of the trial version?
I use this at home (private use) so how can I set Teamviewer to 'private use' ?

I've installed TeamViewer on my new laptop and, by mistake, I have probably selected other licence than personal one because now I'm getting an error: Your trial period has expired!
Unsinstalling TeamViewer and reinstalling with a personal licence won't work (it gives me same licence expiration message).
I've opened a case with TeamViewer (2823645) but no solution was provided.
Could you help me solving this issue and using again TeamViewer, please?

I tried to remove TV several times. Cleaned up registry, but then after new installation again it displays "Your trial period has expired!"

I'm trying to help my Wife with her install of TV11 (Windows PC). I believe she didn't install the personal use, free version because she now gets a trial version expiration message when she starts up TV. From what it looks like the personal version is free for use but when I uninstall, download again and install the trial version (selecting personal use during the install) the message of trial version expiration pops up again.
What is the best way of going about uninstalling TV completely so we can reinstall and make sure the personal use version is installed so she can use it without the licenseregistration and trial period ending message abeing shown (she only has about 2 days left before the trial ends). In case I'm completely misunderstanding how the personal use version works please let me know.

Good luck getting a resolution on this. I too am using TeamViewer on one PC in my home, and they are claiming that the software thinks I am working at a corporation or something. I have been sent in multiple support tickets and I'm now 2 weeks into trying to solve this problem on ticker #2811876.
I am no further along that I was two weeks ago. Support requested my logs, then they disappeared.
Not having access to TeamViewer has made my life much more difficult, and I'm sure it's the same for other people, but I absolutely refuse to pay $849!! for a single user license for home use.
I hope you have more luck with this than I have. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
I own at least 6 personal computers and about 8 family members computers I fix for them, I am not using Teamviewer for commercial use but the app thinks that I am how come?
Chances are when you installed teamviewer on one of those machines you chose that you where using it for professional purposes or mixed use. Once you do that it flags all of your systems that are on your account with it. To my knowledge I am not sure how to undo that. Maybe talk to TV support?
I am in a similar situation, a few own PCs and a lot of family and friends and i have this "issue" everytime i change my "main" computer. After some time i get the message that i'm suspicious to use TeamViewer commercially. This is not a big problem, you just have to contact support, send them the log-files Teamviewer##_Logfile.log and Teamviewer##_Logfile_OLD.log. If you are really not using TeamViewer commercially they will "unlock" your computer und you will not see this message again until you change your computer.
I don't know how TeamViewer identifies potentially commercial use, but i can see that my behavior looks like this, even if it is not the case.
When you started a trial, you notified TeamViewer that your intended use is commercial, otherwise you do not need a trial version.
I think but I'm not sure that the installation is somehow marked as "commercial" and you are now trying to return this to "non-commercial" which seems understandably suspicious.
I think you need to contact support to resolve this. I've done this in a similar scenario
BTW you should not mark your questions as solved, the chances are very little that you will get an answer to a solved problem.

I have been using Teamviewer for personal use for several years.But, a few days ago, when I opened the remote connection window, appeared a request to acquire a license because my trial period would have expired.And I can no longer connect between my computers. However, on my profile of my management console, it is always indicated that I have a free license. I never, unless a bad manipulation on my part, asked for a trial period, nor indicated that I wanted to use a professional version. Could you tell me how to find or re-request a free private use? That I can continue to use Teamviewer which I am completely satisfied with.

The trial version is only on one of my computers. It is probable that I made a bad maneuver by installing teamviewer 12 beta then uninstalling it to go back to version 11 because it did not work with my other computers that works in linux. Other computers that continue to communicate with each other. This is simply to be able to reinstall Teamviewer in free version on this computer. Simply ?
I have done that and even installed the new beta version. I was careful to install the non-commercial version but it still says that my trial version has expired.
My account is determing as 'used for business' and what I did was just start a new Android virtual machine on my server which set in my room. It's hard to control that Android virtual machine so I try to use Teamviewer. However, when I connect to this Android device, the program says I was using for business and the connection would be closed in 5 min. That's incomprehensible because everyone could buy some extra devices for their own and I think determine whether the users are using program for business by this way is not clever.
I don't know if it is the same problem, but i have sometimes (whenever i change my main computer) a message that i am suspected to use TeamViewer commercially. If this is the case the only way i know to get rid of this message, is to contact support and send them your log-files, so they can check that you're not using TeamViewer commercially.
To let us know the exact message you can change the language of TeamViewer to english temporary. TeamViewer options -> Advanced -> Display language (First setting at the top)
I'm in the same situation, I have a lot of personal computers even some with different operating systems. lots of friends and family members, I sent my log files once, I even asked if I could have a personal licence that is for home users, because I help others without receiving money. I would like to contribute with a mesure payment as a non profit person, but they sent me a quotation from 350 Euros per 50 hours per month and I only use it to help some friends. It's a good product, but saldy they are forcing me to look in other directions. I will probably also recommend the others instead.
When I had a Business Account I used to get a similar message despite having paid an annual fee.
I seemed to remember resolving it by logging into the Management Console and under the main Account Heading (Large Blue Box) with details of the account, left clicking on the box and selecting Edit Profile.
Within the edit profile dialogue box under the General Section Menu you can makes changes to the type of Licence currently allocated to the device.
Under the Licence Menu you can also manage your licence.

This is not really an error message. It is normal that after a trial period software will not work until you buy a license.
And I do not know what one can tell you in addition to the content of this message, as it is absolutely clear what to do. Maybe that most of us here, are not TeamViewer. The "us" in this message is either support or sales.
Read carefully when installing software - It might do what you select.
Do not shout "urgent" to someone, from whom you want help.
