Sometimes you may be asked to locate your TeamViewer log files and send them to TeamViewer to help solve a problem. You can submit them to us with a ticket from www.teamviewer.com/support.

To find the log files on a Windows or Mac computer:

  1. Open the TeamViewer window and click Extras > Open Log Files.
  2. Locate the file called "TeamViewerXX_Logfile.log", where "XX" is your TeamViewer version.
  3. If there is also a file called "TeamViewerXX_Logfile_OLD.log", please include this too.

Actually, there is not a "Extras" button on my teamviewer. What should I do now?

    Hi @nobelkuo,

"Extras" is not a button in the TeamViewer program - rather, it's one of the menus that you should see at the top of the TeamViewer window, along with the other menus.

If you're using a Mac computer, you will see the menus at the very top of the screen, rather than at the top of the TeamViewer window.

Would it be so hard to list several common locations depending on version and OS? One of the primary reasons for accessing the logs is you can't actually run/use Teamviewer, making this answer useless.

@Brendan that's a good point! You can find the default locations of the log files in our Knowledge Base article on the topic.
