15.7.6 vs 15.17.6
buddy has Big Sur and TV 15.17.6 . I'm on High Sierra and TV 10.7.6.
His version wants 8 char password, mine version says invalid password.
Is there a fix for this since I'm apparently up to date with my version for HS.?
Other apps prevent me from updating to BS.

Hello @metropical,
The versions 8, 9, and 10 got their service discontinued on September 15, 2021. More detailed information about it you can find here: Complimentary TeamViewer 15 access for legacy versions to be deprecated — TeamViewer Support
Your High Sierra device is compatible with version 15.2 ( You can check compatibility here: Supported operating systems - TeamViewer Support ). Therefore, you just need to download it on your High Sierra, and you should be able to connect to your partner.
You can find the download link here: Sunsetting active support of macOS 10.11 and macOS 10.12 — TeamViewer Support
I hope it helps! 😊

Hello @metropical
I will need more information to assist you...
Could you provide a screen capture of the error message?
Did you also restarted the partner side or just your device?
Does the issue occurs when you connect with this one partner/ID in particular, or all other partners/IDs get the same error?

no error message. TV says connecting, but never does.
On his side he sees me trying to connect, but never sees a connect.
I have not checked with others.

Hello @metropical
I know you just installed version 15.2.2756 on your side, but you may consider uninstall and install TeamViewer on the partner side as well. (Make sure to remove all settings during the uninstall.)
Our service is operating just fine (right now)... You can also check it on TeamViewer Status
Therefore, this connection issue could be something else. I would advise you to also restart the internet router on both locations. And if problem persist, you may consider trying to disable IPv6 on both devices, or even consider try change the DNS on both computers.
I hope it helps! Please share with us if this changes resolve the connection issue 😃

he had a Big Sur update yesterday. had him reinstall. no change. IPv6 is disabled.
Today it connected once after a couple minutes and then not again.
Also, when I sign into this support forum, it wants to add "trusted" device every time. That shouldn't be either.
Since this has always worked before, I gotta believe it has to do with 2 different versions of the OS, Big Sur and High Sierra.
Too bad as I use it to help friends out. But I have to stay with High Sierra for Pro Tools which is a main work app.

Hello @metropical
Thanks for sharing with us!
Regarding the validation for Trust Device, it is expected that this email will be sent multiple times for a same device.
If you want to understand with more details about it, please check the article What is “Trusted Devices” for your TeamViewer account? - TeamViewer Support
If you dislike this emails you can activate Two Factor Authentication instead: Two factor authentication - Activation and Deactivation - TeamViewer Support
Regarding the connection issue, I do not believe it is related with different OS... This sounds more like a network issue, or something else blocking the TeamViewer services (like antivirus, firewall, or any other software).
I hope this information can be useful to you!
