Why I can't connect when both partners online?

I have been trying to connect to my partners Mac Book through a TeamViewer for some time now. My device is allowed by the TeamViewer. I have also connected before multiple times. For a few weeks I have been getting an error saying," Either your partner isn't connected to the internet or your partner's TeamViewer isn't running yet. Please tell your partner to check his/her internet connection or to start TeamViewer." Both of us are connected to the internet, and our TeamViewers are up and running. If someone has a solution please send it my way!
