Access TV on remote computer without TV open
Is there a way to access or send a prompt to a remote computer without TV being left open on the remote computer?
I just recently installed TV on my and my Mom's computer so I can help her when she has problems. I have activated easy access on her computer and set access to be only granted from my computer. I'd rather not have to leave TV open on her computer if I don't have to.
When I try to access her computer it prompts me that there is either no internet connection or TV isn't open. I would think the remote control prompt for connection would send a notification to her to allow TV to access her computer but it just gives me the no connection prompt.
If it makes any difference we both have Macs.

Hi @Sean49 ,
Thanks for your post and welcome to our TeamViewer Community!
Easy access is undoubtedly the best way to set up unattended remote sessions! ✅
However, to be able to remote connect, TeamViewer must be running on her device. For security reasons, we advise also using the allowed list; therefore, you can set it up so only your account can remotely connect to your mother's device (even if someone knows her ID and password, if they are not in the allowed list, they can't connect to her device).
Regarding the error message... "there is either no internet connection or TV isn't open", does it occurs when TeamViewer is open on her side?
- If TeamViewer isn't open - please get in touch with her to open TeamViewer, and double-check if the internet is working.
- If TeamViewer is open and the device has internet - please consider restarting the devices as well the internet router. If the issue persists, you can attempt to disable IPv6 following the instruction in our article: 📄 Fix connectivity issues.
Let us know how it goes, and if you need any further help.
I wish you and your mother a wonderful day!
