im trying to get two computers to connect, but i keep getting 'error message' of 'connection blocked because the partner is on your blocklist or not on your allowlist

This alert indicates a specific setting on your device has been activated - a Block- or Allowlist:
As mentioned in the above article, you can find this option in the Security Settings of TeamViewer.
If you are on Windows, you can access the TeamViewer settings by clicking the gear icon (⚙) in the upper right corner of the app. Then select Security, and finally click Configure to the right of 'Block and Allowlist':
The next window will show either 'Deny access for the following partners' or 'Allow access for the following partners' selected. In my experience, more than likely 'Allow access for the following partners' is selected, but no IDs have been added - this essentially blocks out all connections!
Simply click the bubble next to 'Deny access for the following partners' - if no IDs are added when this option is selected, then connections from any device should be allowed once the ID and password is entered correctly.
