Hello,
It is not the first time I get flagged as a commercial user when I am not and I have never been. I have never used this service/program in any kind of commercial setting nor did I ever get paid to do remote support using it.
Noticed the banner when trying to connect to a friend who asked for help.
I was barely able to help because all my sessions would timeout after a minute. Thankfully this time it was a simple issue which only required a couple minutes to fix. On anything more complex, I likely would not have been able to help.
And worst of all, there's almost no customer support of any kind at all for free users other than this forum. I remember when I got flagged the first time, I was able to contact support but not it seems contacting support is reserved purely for paid users.
How can I get my account unflagged ?0 -

Recently my account always marked as a commercial account, but actually I use teamviewer to link my office PC when I was not there. Maybe because of the frequency issue I was marked as the commercial user.
Can you please help to free these two accounts as personal users, thanks in advance!

Am getting "Connection blocked after timeout" immediately after attempt to connect.
Is it temporal?

Teamviewer, why don't you make the error messages to be more understandable? on the screenshot above there's not a single word about licence type.

setkal se někdo s tímto problémem v TeamVieweru?TeamViewer používám několik let pro osobní účely (3 vlastní počítače + jeden tátův), hlavně na vzdálenou pomoc tátovi a přístup k mým starším počítačům se soubory. Používám ho velmi zřídka, maximálně jednou za měsíc nebo méně. Logy tohle mohou dokázat.
Včera mi ale TeamViewer oznámil, že prý program využívám pro komerční účely, což není pravda. Teď mi znemožňuje připojení, což mi komplikuje možnost pomáhat tátovi na dálku.
Nevíte, kam se obrátit, abych mohl situaci vyřešit? Je možné nějak doložit, že program používám čistě pro osobní účely?

has anyone experienced this issue with TeamViewer?I’ve been using TeamViewer for several years for personal purposes (3 personal computers + one for my father). I mostly use it occasionally, perhaps once a month or less, to help my father remotely or access files on older PCs. Logs can prove it.
However, yesterday, TeamViewer flagged my account, claiming I might be using it for commercial purposes, which is not true. Now I’m unable to connect, and it’s preventing me from helping my father.
Does anyone know how to resolve this situation or whom to contact? Is there any way to prove that my usage is strictly personal?

I am a registered user under a free license however, I am receiving messages when trying to use TeamViewer that I am using it for commercial purposes. I am using it to connect to my home computer!! And your telephone voice says I have to buy a license to ask you anything!

I have had a FREE version of TV for over 20 years for aiding 6 family members a friends. Just recently when I try to connect to one of my family I receive an error saying I am using as a business & must upgrade to continue then the session times out. My TV panel says I have FREE version at top of panel. I'm hoping someone here can tell me how to correct this issue.

I've never used TeamViewer for commercial use - I dont' know how the system determines it.

I've been using TeamViewer for personal use for a while with no problems but the last couple days when I connect I get a popup to subscribe to Business Use then my session times out. Can you see if I've been flagged as a commercial account. I don't use this for any business use. Thx,

you need to log in and say you are supporting friends and family and not being payed for it i think.
i have just done this. if it works brilly but other wise teamviewer is dead. IT teams will kill it. hope they are not stupid and too greedy for cash.

so once again my account got flagged for "commercial environment" once again cause I was logging into my home pc from a business. can someone from support, once again, reset my account so I can log into my home pc from outside of my home.

I never use it for commerciazl use only helping friends or getting access to my pc that is on a friends house

First, I would like to know how they can change the software like they did weeks ago! I have been using Teamviewer FOR MANY YEARS. Why did they seem to have RESET EVERYONE AS NOT FREE? I have submitted the 4 ids I use on 12/11. Nothing yet. I know it says 72 hours, but somewhere else it said longer. I know this has always been free for personal use, and I do thank them for that. BUT HOW COME THIS HAPPENED TO BEGIN WITH? Probably not expecting an answer from Teamviewer, since we don't pay. Just nuts. Thanks.

I'm guessing the following is happening
1 / TeamViewer has data that a significant number of free tier users are cheating
2 / they recently launched a new, more aggressive ML/AI based fraud detection mechanism that is not accurately flagging bad actor accounts.
Hopefully they are using account appeals requests as input to fine tune and improve their fraud detection model. My account was flagged (I've appealed) it's astonishing my usage profile would trigger the mechanism. I support one endpoint (elderly parent) that's connected to a public ISP where I provide maybe 1 to 2 hours remote support over ~ 30 minute sessions several times a month.
Still waiting for my appeal results….how do you find out?

I am travelling and trying to use my home PC and now it says I need a commercial license. Why? This is the second time it's happened. Once before it was happening when I was trying to connect to my mom's laptop to help her.

I have the same problem, and it's the only reason I'm here. I use TV to turn on a game server for family, it thinks I'm working, I get signed out and told to pay.
I guess since I'm not paying, they don't have a reason to give a *bleep* about this.

Since I was forced to update to version 15.60.3 I find that every remote session is timing out after exactly 30 minutes, whether I am actively using the session or not. Are others experiencing this and is there is a fix?

Looks like again suspected for commercial use for no reason. I maintain my old (over 70 y) brothers windows computers and me myself have few windows computers (two laptops, PC) and one Linux server for my Owncloud server.
Suddenly connection from my windows laptop to my Linux server in other room with TeamViewer was timed out and asking to upgrade my license. Why to upgrade a personal use?
As there is no way to contact TV staff, the only way is to write here. Can anyone tell, how to get some help, to be able to connect to my Linux server more than one or two minutes at time?
Last time this happened exactly one year ago. I guess TV will do this "commersialism" yearly basis.

Does anyone from TV look at this forum??? 2 days now since I requested reset. Also, I think I left out an id. It says not to put in a 2nd request until the first one is completed. says we are supposed to get an email when it is done….None yet…
YOU'D THINK THEY COULD AT LEAST CHANGE THE FREAKING TIMEOUT TO 5 MIN OR MORE…JEEZ!!!
*** I just wanted to add that I just called them and no help for free users and the sales people can't help. Not even to send an email to someone. There you go…

This matter is urgent as I need to connect for my system in Toronto from Nova Scotia to get files.
I'm using a free license to connect to only a few systems and not charging.

Hi my wife uses Team View to access my sons laptop. She will stay connected while he is doing school work. She has been doing this for years but it recently stopped working. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it but it still does not stay connected. Has the Free use been eliminated?
