I'm in the process of configuring a Linux mini-PC for my mom's use—basic functions are all she needs. We use TeamViewer for remote management of her machine, and I've been trying to set this new one up for unattended remote access, aka Easy Access. The mini-PC is currently with me and once it's configured I'll be taking it to her place.
It's currently running Ubuntu 24.04.
TeamViewer Host is installed on the remote (my mom's) machine, version 15.64.3
I'm attempting to connect to it via the TeamViewer client on my desktop Linux Mint machine, also version 15.64.3.
Currently the connection is being made across my home network.
TeamViewer Host on the remote machine is assigned to my TeamViewer account, and I'm the sole Manager of the device. The Security tab's "Unattended Access" box is checked to grant me Easy Access.
Here's the problem:
The remote Host initial logging level was set to "Critical Errors Only."
When I try to connect from my client the Session List window pops up on the remote machine, and a window for the remote session opens on my client machine, but the connection never completes. The message "Connecting to remote host" appears, and the session either stays that way until I abort, or it aborts itself after a few seconds.
If I change the host's logging level to anything else, then the "Share window" appears on the host machine and when Share is selected, successfully establishes the remote session.
Literally the only difference between the two scenarios is the logging level.
Logging level aside, this still begs the question of why I'm getting the "Share window" on the remote host when I connect even though I've set everything up AFAIK for Unattended Access.
