This is Aditya. Recently, I have installed my astronomical equipment in the Remote Observatory in China. I live in South Korea. So, I need to use my PC remotely every day to start the imaging session and then disconnect. Initially, as it's my first experience, I may need to stay online for a few hours or overnight, but later it may be as short as 30 minutes.
Due to the Great Firewall in China, I am really unsure how fast TeamViewer would be. Does it disconnect frequently? Some users said it works well, while others experienced issues.
I would be the single user for 100% personal usage. 90% of the time, I will connect only one MacBook and, rarely, my smartphone to control the Remote PC at the observatory.
One of my friends said that for this purpose, even the free version would work well. However, I won't mind purchasing the paid version as well. My main concern is a stable connection and acceptable speed. I don't want to download large, continuous files or similar.
Connect to the computer»»» run the image acquisition»» disconnect, and go to sleep. That's all.
