Hi teamspeedy,
Please check our Android FAQ for our supported manufacturers.
Unfortunately this is not because you are connecting from an iPad, it is because the shield isn't a supported device.
Unfortunately, We are not able to support all Android devices. To allow full remote control of a device, we need cooperation from the manufacturers themselves which we do not have for all manufacturers.
I hope this answers your question.

Hi teamspeedy,
As far as I know, this isn't on the roadmap. At the moment all I can give you is the list of currently supported devices.

What is now with the support it's years have passed that can not really be you are the leading manufacturer.

i agree, especially "knowing" that the share will grow even more

I'm not sure what else I can tell you guys.
We cannot remote control devices without the manufacturers co-operation. That's basically the long and short of it, there is nothing else to do.
I have gone into this at length here
Beyond that, all I can do is apologise for the disappointment.
