Using TeamViewer to clean-up infected pc remotely?

Hi, my daughter asked me for help to remove a virus (Segurazo) from her computer (Windows 7). Maybe it's a false positive she saw but I don't know. 

1- I would have to do this remotely (she lives 2500 miles from me). So TeamViewer seems to be perfect for this. Any recommandation to the contrary?

2- The process needs to be done in safe mode, so I would ask her to restart her PC in "safe mode with networking." Correct?

If anyone has experience doing this, feel free to share best practices for before, during and after the process.
